The annual CAPES for Kids Fun Run will take place in 2026, according to an announcement on Apr. 13. The event is held in honor of a three-year-old Carver Elementary School student who lost her life due to physical abuse and neglect in 2011.

The run aims to raise awareness about child abuse and provide support for victims within the local community. All proceeds from the event will go toward quality services at the CARE House of the Pee Dee, benefiting children who have been abused and their families.

CAPES for Kids includes a family-friendly atmosphere with activities such as face-painting, inflatables, and a superhero costume contest. The event features both a 5K and 10K race along with a kids fun run.

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce operates as a community business organization that serves the Florence area in Arizona, according to the official website. The chamber contributes to community engagement by promoting local tourism and supporting businesses in Florence, as reported by its official website. It also works to advance economic growth through education, advocacy, and collaboration among businesses and residents according to its official website.
