The Arizona Department of Transportation announced on May 29 a series of freeway closures and lane restrictions for the Phoenix area scheduled from Friday evening through Monday morning, June 1. The advisory includes two late cancellations among the planned work.
According to ADOT, southbound State Route 51 will be closed between Indian School Road and Interstate 10 from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Northbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) will also be closed between Interstate 10 and Indian School Road during the same period. Southbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) will be narrowed to two lanes between Princess Drive and Shea Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, while previously scheduled northbound lane restrictions for this stretch have been canceled.
Eastbound Loop 303 is set to close overnight between 43rd Avenue and Interstate 17 from Friday at 9 p.m. until Saturday at 8 a.m., with an additional closure originally planned for Saturday night now canceled as well. On Sunday, intermittent closures of up to fifteen minutes are expected at the State Route 347 intersection at Riggs Road from four in the morning until four in the afternoon.
