Arizona Public Service (APS) is encouraging customers to review their current electricity rate plans and consider if a different option may better fit their energy habits. The company offers a variety of residential rate plans, including Time-of-Use and Fixed Energy options.

APS provides guidance for customers on choosing the most suitable plan. Those who are able to shift energy use to off-peak hours or stagger appliance use may benefit from a Time-of-Use Rate Plan, which can offer savings by using less power during periods of high demand. Customers with more fixed schedules or who prefer consistent rates might find the Fixed Rate Plan more appropriate, as it allows for energy use at any time without concern for changing rates.

For those uncertain about which plan is best, APS customer care advisors are available to help review options. Customers can also check their current rate plan and explore alternatives by logging into their account on aps.com or through the APS app. A rate comparison tool is available online and in the app to help customers estimate how their bill could change under different plans.

The amount paid for electricity depends not only on the selected rate plan but also on total energy consumption and usage patterns. APS outlines several available plans:

– Time-of-Use 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Weekdays: This plan offers lower rates outside of peak hours (4 p.m.-7 p.m. weekdays). Customers who reduce usage during these times may see savings.
– Time-of-Use 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Weekdays with Demand Charge: This option has the lowest base energy rates among these choices but requires limiting both overall use and demand during peak hours, as well as taking advantage of Super Off-Peak rates from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on weekdays (November-April).
– Fixed Energy Charge Plan: Rates remain constant all day, every day, with tiers based on total power usage; higher consumption leads to higher fixed rates.

Customers interested in switching plans can do so through their online account or by contacting APS customer care.

In addition to rate plans, APS provides assistance programs such as the Energy Support Program, which offers discounts for eligible households based on income and size (https://www.aps.com). The utility serves approximately 1.4 million customers across Arizona (https://www.aps.com), delivering electricity throughout urban and rural areas—including border towns—within its regulated service territory (https://www.aps.com). As a regulated utility company, APS supplies power along with related services like outage support, billing assistance programs, service setup and transfer (https://www.aps.com).
