The Bankruptcy Judges for the District of Arizona announced on May 16 that they have adopted General Order 26-4, amending the Local Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure for the district. The new order will apply to cases filed on or after June 1, 2026.
The adoption of General Order 26-4 is intended to align the district’s local rules with the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure and the Bankruptcy Code. This update aims to ensure consistency and clarity in how bankruptcy cases are managed within Arizona.
According to the announcement, General Order 26-4 specifically amends Local Rules 2084-9 through 2084-12. Additionally, technical revisions have been made to Local Rule 2084-15 and Local Form 2084-4 (Chapter 13 Plan) in order to maintain consistency among all related local rules and forms.
These changes reflect ongoing efforts by the court to keep its procedures up-to-date with federal standards. The amendments are part of a regular review process designed to improve legal processes for practitioners and individuals involved in bankruptcy proceedings.
Further updates or guidance regarding these rule changes may be provided as their implementation date approaches.
