Arizona Board of Regents schedules special meetings at ASU on May 28

The Arizona Board of Regents announced on May 27 that it has scheduled special board and committee meetings for Thursday, May 28. The meetings will take place at Arizona State University’s Fulton Center, Sixth Floor, located at 300 E. University Drive in Tempe. A livestream will be available through ABOR Live.

According to the agenda, the schedule begins with a special board meeting from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., which includes an executive session from 9:05 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a public session until 11:15 a.m. The Audit and Risk Management Committee will meet from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., starting with a public session and concluding with an executive session between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.

The University Governance and Operations Committee is set to convene from 1:15 p.m. to 2:55 p.m., beginning with the call to order, followed by an executive session, then moving into the public session until adjournment.

The board noted that the agenda may be amended up to twenty-four hours before the meeting starts. Estimated starting times are provided for each item; however, discussions or actions may occur before or after these times at the discretion of board or committee chairs.

The announcement also stated that any item on the agendas may be considered out of order as needed during proceedings, and legal advice may be sought in executive sessions pursuant to state law (A.R.S §38-431.03(A)(3)). Executive sessions are not open to the public, and confidentiality requirements apply under A.R.S §38-431.03(B) & (C), including potential penalties for violations.
