During the week of July 12 to July 18, 2025, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona charged 124 individuals with immigration-related offenses. The United States filed charges in 62 cases involving illegal re-entry and charged 54 individuals for illegal entry into the country. Additionally, seven cases were filed against eight individuals accused of smuggling illegal aliens within Arizona.
Federal law enforcement agencies including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), U.S. Border Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) supported these cases.
In a notable case on July 12, Arnold Perez was apprehended after a high-speed chase when he failed to stop for Border Patrol Agents at Coronado National Park. He was charged with transporting illegal aliens for profit after four Mexican citizens were found in his vehicle.
On July 13, Luis Sahid Guanin-Manzaba was charged with transporting an illegal alien for profit after agents discovered two Mexican citizens illegally present in his vehicle during a checkpoint inspection on Interstate 19.
Jasiel Antonio Moreno-Cuevas faced charges on July 16 for re-entering the United States after being removed following a felony conviction in 2014.
These actions are part of Operation Take Back America, which aims to combat illegal immigration and dismantle criminal organizations through resources from various Department of Justice initiatives.
A criminal complaint is merely an accusation; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
