The Arizona Corporation Commission has concluded 2025 by highlighting several initiatives aimed at improving the state’s utility services, supporting economic growth, and increasing public safety. The agency reports that it has reviewed numerous applications and recommended orders this year to benefit entrepreneurs, investors, and customers, while also working to reinforce infrastructure in Arizona.

The Office of General Counsel provided legal support for a range of activities including adjudicatory and litigation proceedings, federal regulatory matters, public records processing, risk management, ethics advice, and governance. According to the Commission: “The Office of General Counsel fulfilled its commitment to providing timely, practical, and legally sound advice to support the Commission’s mission, to uphold the rule of law, and maintain public trust in the agency’s work. This included providing legal support for adjudicatory and litigation proceedings, federal regulatory proceedings and FERC engagement, public records processing and transparency, legal advice and risk management, ethics advice and governance, institutional support for the various Commission divisions, and providing strategic value through reducing risk and litigation exposure, increased public confidence, and community engagement.”

Commission officials attribute their progress to approximately 275 employees who contributed to new policies implemented in 2025 as well as major technological upgrades designed to improve service for residents and businesses across Arizona. They note that staff perseverance was key in achieving these advancements.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Commission plans further efforts focused on energy resilience by overseeing expansions in electric and natural gas services. Additional priorities include enhanced investor protection through education campaigns and continued technology upgrades aimed at improving efficiency.
