The Arizona Department of Transportation announced on April 10 that rehabilitation work on the Little Colorado Bridge along State Route 77 in Holbrook will begin April 15.

The project is significant for drivers traveling between Holbrook and Snowflake, as lane restrictions in both directions are expected to cause delays. The department said the construction will take place just south of downtown Holbrook.

According to the announcement, crews will mill and repair the bridge deck and joints, replace pavement from the north end of the bridge to Joy Nevin Avenue, repair concrete barriers and sidewalks, and update pavement markings. The improvements are designed to extend the life of the bridge and provide a smoother ride for motorists. The $2.4 million project is scheduled for completion by late summer.
