State schools Superintendent Tom Horne has expressed his condolences following the death of Charlie Kirk, who was killed at a political event in Utah. In a statement, Horne described the incident as “a tragic and despicable act of cowardice that has no place in American society.” He extended his sympathies to Kirk’s family, acknowledging their “unimaginable loss.”
Horne emphasized the importance of free speech, noting that Kirk was exercising this right when he was fatally shot. “That is an attack on all our liberties, and we cannot tolerate this terrible scourge of violence,” he said.
The State of Arizona Department of Education is the organization led by Superintendent Horne.
