Arizona House Republicans said in a post on X that smart road investments help reduce congestion and keep Arizona moving.
The caucus said reliable roads are important for Arizona families, workers and businesses, and that transportation infrastructure remains part of its focus in the state House.
MAP AZ Dashboard lists Tucson’s annual congestion cost at $915 per commuter, with congestion costs tied to traffic delays, fuel use and travel demand.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said the Arizona State Transportation Board approved an $11.5 billion five-year construction program. ADOT said the program includes pavement and bridge preservation projects, widening Interstate 17 and improving State Route 347.
Arizona House Republicans are the majority caucus in the Arizona House of Representatives. The caucus shares legislative updates and policy priorities involving transportation, public safety, economic policy and state spending.
