The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA) has expressed support for Governor Hobbs’ efforts to advance the Rural Health Transformation Program. The initiative aims to address several challenges faced by rural healthcare providers in Arizona.

Key elements of the program include expanding residency opportunities, offering incentives for clinicians to practice in rural areas, and providing retention and relocation assistance. The plan also seeks to improve access through telehealth services, mobile clinics, and enhanced interoperability between healthcare systems.

Additionally, the program will focus on closing gaps in behavioral health and maternal care services for families living in rural regions. Efforts will be made to help rural hospitals modernize their infrastructure and reduce administrative burdens.

The Rural Health Transformation Program is designed to strengthen the healthcare workforce and build resiliency among rural hospitals across Arizona.
