Governor Katie Hobbs has nominated Debbie Johnston to serve as the Director of the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), a decision that has received strong support from the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA).
Ann-Marie Alameddin, president and CEO of AzHHA, expressed confidence in Johnston’s qualifications. “Governor Hobbs has made an exceptional choice in nominating Debbie Johnston to lead the Arizona Department of Health Services,” said Alameddin. “Debbie’s unmatched regulatory expertise, deep familiarity with public health programs and collaborative approach will ensure that Arizona’s healthcare system continues to advance in quality, safety and accessibility. Johnston brings extensive experience in Arizona’s regulatory landscape, including licensure, rulemaking, and compliance. She is recognized for building consensus among stakeholders and supporting policies centered on patient safety while considering operational needs for healthcare providers.
