Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley announced on May 5 that it will host Lemonade Day, a youth-led business event in partnership with Planet Fitness, on Saturday, May 9. The event will allow elementary and middle school Club members to operate their own lemonade stands at Planet Fitness locations across the Valley from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Lemonade Day is designed as a real-world learning experience where young participants apply weeks of entrepreneurship training by setting goals, making plans, and running their own businesses. The program aims to teach budgeting, marketing, customer service skills, and encourages kids to earn, save, and share their profits while supporting causes they care about.

ā€œThis is entrepreneurship in action,ā€ said Josh Stine, Vice President of External Affairs for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley. ā€œOur kids aren’t just learning about business—they’re building confidence, learning responsibility, and discovering how they can make a difference.ā€

Community members are invited to support these youth entrepreneurs at several Planet Fitness locations throughout East Valley—including Apache Junction (3003 W Apache Trail #1), Gilbert (915 S Gilbert Rd), Mesa (825 W University Dr), Tempe (3122 S McClintock Dr and 1405 W Southern Ave)—and Phoenix at the Colangelo Branch’s featured media location (7333 W Thomas Rd).

Organizers say supporters not only receive lemonade but also contribute to developing leadership skills among local youth. The initiative highlights efforts by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley to encourage practical skill-building and community engagement through hands-on experiences.
