Dark Sky Brewing Company, a popular brewery in Flagstaff, Arizona, has expanded its efforts beyond crafting beer by engaging in various philanthropic activities through its nonprofit arm, Dark Sky Community. Since its inception in 2021, the nonprofit has donated over $635,000 to support numerous causes.

Co-founder Larami Sandlin invites the public to learn more about their initiatives as they celebrate International Day of Charity on September 5 and mark ten years in business. The brewery’s charitable activities include collaborations with local organizations such as Downtown Flagstaff and Rift Beer & Wine. Proceeds from these collaborations benefit projects like preserving Historic Downtown Flagstaff and supporting The Eric Marsh Foundation.

Dark Sky also hosts blood drives benefiting Vitalant and offers scholarships in partnership with Northern Arizona University’s Brewing Science program. Monthly dog adoption events with High Country Humane and community cleanups are part of their ongoing efforts to give back to the community.

The brewery supports youth development through contributions to local biking organizations and hosts weekly Bingo nights that raise funds for various local nonprofits. Additionally, during Arizona Beer Week, they organize supply collections for shelters and schools.

This weekend, Dark Sky will participate in the American Cancer Society’s Climb to End Cancer event. Other outdoor events supported by the brewery include Snowbowl’s Winter Season Kick-off Party and Overland Expo Gear & Beer event.
