FOIA Request to Gateway Community College regarding Public University FY 2024 Employee Salaries on December 5, 2025.

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted by the Grand Canyon Times to Gateway Community College on December 5, 2025. The request seeks comprehensive records of employee compensation for all individuals employed by the university during Fiscal Year 2024. This request is made under the Arizona Public Records Law § 39.101 et seq., with a preference for receiving the information in electronic format.

The requested records should include various data fields such as fiscal year, employee name, gender, age or year of birth, date of birth, employer name, title or position, department, hire date, compensation amount (including base pay and any additional pay), compensation type (e.g., salary, hourly wage), and employment type (full-time or part-time). The Grand Canyon Times acknowledges that not all fields may be present in every record but requests that all responsive records be produced regardless. In cases where portions of a record are exempt from disclosure, they ask for non-exempt portions to be released in redacted form.

As members of the media committed to providing transparency and holding public institutions accountable, we at Grand Canyon Times believe this information is crucial for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. Additionally, we have requested a fee waiver based on our role in disseminating information to the public.

This request is supported by The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization that aids media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws. More details about their mission can be found at https://stopsecrecy.org/about/.

Our team will continue to keep you updated as we gather and report news related to this request and other matters of public interest. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification regarding this matter.
