Glendale Union High School District announces Class of 2026 graduation schedule

The Glendale Union High School District announced on Apr. 16 the schedule for its Class of 2026 commencement ceremonies, which will take place at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. The district plans to honor more than 3,000 graduating seniors with ceremonies scheduled across two days in May.

Graduation is a significant milestone for students and their families, marking the transition from high school to future academic and career opportunities. The events will recognize graduates from all district high schools as they move forward into college, careers, or other pursuits.

According to the announcement, ceremonies are set for Monday, May 18 and Wednesday, May 20. On May 18, Washington High School will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Sunnyslope at 1:00 p.m., Independence at 4:00 p.m., and Thunderbird at 7:00 p.m. On May 20, Cortez starts at 10:00 a.m., Apollo at 12:30 p.m., Glendale at 3:00 p.m., Greenway at 5:30 p.m., and Moon Valley concludes the day with an event at 8:00 p.m. Families can attend in person or watch live on YouTube via the @GUHSDAZ channel.

Glendale Union High School District includes ten comprehensive high schools serving grades nine through twelve according to the official website. All schools have received “A” ratings and recognition among America’s best high schools according to the official website.

The district offers many extracurricular activities such as championship athletics and award-winning fine arts programs according to the official website. It also promotes a safe environment focused on respect and student well-being according to the official website.
