Karrin Taylor Robson, a former member of the Arizona Board of Regents and Republican gubernatorial candidate, has expressed support for Donald Trump’s economic policies, particularly those benefiting small businesses. She announced her intentions to adopt a similar “America First” economic strategy if elected governor.

“President Donald Trump is fighting for American small businesses like no president in history,” said Taylor Robson. “His tax cuts and rolling back of red tape have created an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive. As Governor, I’ll follow that same pro-growth, America First playbook in Arizona. Cut burdensome regulations, root out waste, fraud, and abuse, and fight to give our state the lowest tax burden in the entire country.”

According to Robson, her platform is heavily influenced by pro-business and low-tax policies that were characteristic of the Trump administration. Her comments came as a response to a White House post that highlighted Trump’s achievements in small business deregulation and tax cuts. These measures are credited by many economists with aiding post-pandemic recovery and achieving record job creation. Robson suggested these policies could serve as a blueprint for Arizona’s future economic development.

During Trump’s presidency, the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act notably reduced the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21% and lowered taxes for small business pass-through entities. The U.S. Small Business Administration reported that these changes led to unprecedented levels of optimism, hiring, and expansion among small businesses through 2019. The White House also attributed over $50 billion in compliance cost savings to deregulation initiatives.

Arizona has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing economies in the United States, largely due to its business-friendly tax policy and regulatory reforms. According to the Arizona Commerce Authority, from 2015 to 2024, the state added over 400,000 jobs while maintaining one of the nation’s lowest flat income tax rates. Robson’s proposal aims to further reduce regulatory burdens and achieve the lowest tax rate nationwide, continuing this trend of conservative fiscal management.

Robson is an experienced business executive and attorney who founded Arizona Strategies, a land-use and economic development firm. Her campaign for governor in 2022 focused on growth-oriented policies, border security, and educational choice. Her public service record emphasizes expanding opportunities through entrepreneurship and responsible governance.

The campaign committee supporting Robson’s gubernatorial bid underscores limited government, fiscal responsibility, and advancing Arizona’s competitive economy through pro-business policies. This platform aligns with her long-standing focus on deregulation, tax reform, and private-sector growth—principles consistent with Trump’s America First agenda.
