Congressman Paul Gosar (R-Arizona) has received the 2019 Taxpayers’ Friend Award from the National Taxpayers Union (NTU).

“From record spending to record debt, 2019 was a tough year for our nation’s taxpayers,” NTU President Pete Sepp said in a post on Prescott eNews. “Despite these metrics, taxpayers can take comfort that a principled elected official like Congressman Paul Gosar was working day in and day out to protect taxpayers’ interests in Washington.”

The Taxpayers’ Friend Award is given to members of Congress who have exhibited a strong voting record in favor of taxpayers’ during a given legislative session. Gosar was recognized for his support of low taxes, limited government and economic freedom.

“Since taking office I have been clear on one thing: I will protect the taxpayers,” Gosar told Prescott eNews. ”I will not vote to increase taxes. Americans have been overtaxed for a generation, and until there are spending reforms and the elimination of massive waste and fraud in the federal government I will never vote to increase taxes.”
