Karrin Taylor Robson, a candidate for Governor in Arizona, expressed her support for President Trump’s legislative initiative known as the “Big Beautiful Bill.” She called on Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs to retract his critical comments about the bill and the President. Robson’s statement was made to the Grand Canyon Times.
“President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill is a win for the America First Agenda,” said Taylor Robson, Governor Candidate. “It includes a historic tax cut for the middle class, increases border security funding to deport criminal illegal immigrants, strengthens our law enforcement, and eliminates waste, fraud and abuse from our government. I urge Congressman Biggs to rescind his comments on the radio attacking President Trump’s legislation and vote for this America First bill.”
As of July 2, 2025, Republican leaders in the House are working to pass this significant legislative package by July 4. However, according to The Hill, they face opposition from within their own party. Hardline conservatives, many associated with the House Freedom Caucus, oppose the bill due to concerns over a projected $750 billion increase in the federal deficit.
Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona, a former chair of the House Freedom Caucus, expressed skepticism during a radio interview with KTAR News. He acknowledged that while the bill contains elements aligned with former President Trump’s priorities, there are parts he considers “amazingly bad.”
According to CNN, the bill has returned to the House of Representatives and is set for a vote on the Senate-approved version. It passed the Senate with a tie-breaking vote by Vice President JD Vance. The legislation includes substantial tax cuts and national security investments. President Trump is actively lobbying key holdouts, including members of the House Freedom Caucus and moderate lawmakers, aiming for passage before his July 4 deadline. Despite vocal opposition from figures like Representatives Chip Roy and Thomas Massie, House GOP leaders hope Trump’s involvement will rally support for final passage.
President Trump described the “big beautiful bill” as a historic achievement and “one of the most successful pieces of legislation ever passed,” citing its sweeping tax cuts and potential economic growth benefits. He said that despite deficit concerns, the bill’s impact on growth would offset costs.
