The Precinct Committeemen of Legislative District 3 selected three individuals on March 9 to be considered by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors for the Arizona State Representative seat vacated by Joseph Chaplik. The vacancy was officially communicated to the Republican Party of Arizona by the Arizona Secretary of State on March 3.
This process is significant as it ensures continued representation for voters in Legislative District 3 and maintains legislative continuity. The Republican Party of Arizona coordinated the nomination process, which resulted in Cody Reim, Michelle Ugenti-Rita, and George Khalaf being chosen as nominees.

Not only have we achieved that, but LD3’s Precinct Committeemen also demonstrated their dedication to conservative principles by choosing three outstanding individuals as their nominees.”

Following this selection process, the names of Reim, Ugenti-Rita, and Khalaf will be forwarded by AZGOP leadership to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The board will then appoint one nominee as the new representative for Legislative District 3.
