The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will close the eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) off-ramp at Arizona Avenue in Chandler starting at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 9. The closure is expected to last about 60 days, with plans to reopen the ramp by mid-December.
According to ADOT, crews will reconstruct the ramp as part of the ongoing Loop 202 widening project in the Southeast Valley. During this period, drivers are advised to use alternative exits at Alma School or McQueen roads.
In a related update, ADOT announced that the westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Price Road has reopened following a two-month closure for reconstruction.
The $200 million Loop 202 Improvement Project aims to add lanes and make interchange improvements along an eight-mile stretch between Loop 101 (Price Freeway) and Val Vista Drive in Chandler and Gilbert. The project is partly funded by Proposition 400, a half-cent sales tax approved by Maricopa County voters in 2004. Oversight for this work falls under the Regional Transportation Plan managed by the Maricopa Association of Governments, which serves as the metropolitan planning organization for Greater Phoenix.
