Jenny Clark, founder of Love Your School, said in a May 25 post on X that proposed income limits for Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account program would unfairly affect families using the program for education options.

“Why are Arizona democrats HATING on people who pay more in taxes by pushing an initiative that snatches scholarships (ESAs) from their children’s hands,” Clark said. “We shouldn’t punish people for working hard and making $150k gross income. That’s what democrats are doing with this.”

Clark made the statement as supporters of the Protect Education Act continue collecting signatures for a ballot initiative that would add an annual household income limit of $150,000 for students who do not meet pre-universal expansion criteria starting in the 2027-28 school year.

The Common Sense Institute said the initiative also includes testing requirements for participating schools and restrictions on fund rollover provisions.

EdChoice said Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account program serves families across income brackets. Its analysis found that 56 percent of recipients live in ZIP codes where the median family income with children is between $75,000 and $150,000.

Clark founded Love Your School to help families find education options, including homeschool, microschool, and private school options. The organization says Clark previously served on the Arizona State Board of Education and co-founded Redeemer Classical School.
