After Arizona House and Senate Republicans revealed their plan to prevent a tax increase for the 2025 tax year, Chad Heinrich, State Director of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Arizona, responded with a statement addressing concerns about ongoing uncertainty for small businesses.
“It’s good to hear that the legislative majority has the back of small business and will not allow for a surprise tax increase for the 2025 tax year.
“That’s great for 2025, which is in the books.
“Small businesses are actively operating in 2026 without having the certainty needed to make investments now. We will continue to urge lawmakers to take action and align Arizona’s income tax code with the small business provisions that are permanent in federal law so that Main Street can operate and grow their businesses with certainty.”
The NFIB is an organization dedicated to supporting small business owners throughout Arizona. It empowers these owners by helping them influence policy decisions and access community resources. The group also provides compliance tools, economic research, and legislative updates tailored specifically for Arizona businesses. More information on their activities can be found at their official website.
Operating across all 50 states, including Arizona, NFIB engages in advocacy efforts designed to shape policies that benefit small enterprises. The organization focuses on fostering economic growth by delivering state-specific resources and working closely with lawmakers to promote favorable conditions for independent businesses (source).
NFIB’s ongoing call is for legislators to provide clear guidance regarding future state income taxes so that local businesses can plan ahead confidently.
