Pinal County Animal Care and Control announced on May 29 that it will provide free microchipping for pets throughout the month of June. The initiative aims to help pet owners prepare for the increased risk of lost pets during the week of the 4th of July.

According to the announcement, “Every year, we see SO MANY lost pets the week of the 4th of July. Getting your pets microchipped will help keep them safe and help get them home if they find their way to the shelter!” The department encourages residents interested in participating or seeking more information to email [email protected].

The program is intended to assist in reuniting lost animals with their families, particularly during periods when fireworks and celebrations may cause pets to become frightened and run away. Appointments are required for those wishing to take advantage of this service.
