The Los Angeles Rams acquired NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns, according to multiple reports on June 1. The trade involved Pro Bowl edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.

The move comes after the Rams selected quarterback Ty Simpson at No. 13 in the draft as they look toward life after Matthew Stafford. With Garrett joining the roster, analysts say the NFC West becomes even more competitive.

The Arizona Cardinals are scheduled to play the Rams in Los Angeles during Week 6 and will host them again in Week 10. Paris Johnson Jr., left tackle for the Cardinals, is expected to face off against Garrett; however, right tackle Elijah Wilkinson may also have assignments against him. The challenge of facing Aaron Donald was significant for division opponents until his retirement.

Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur enters his first offseason with positive feedback from players and staff regarding his leadership and offensive strategies. “This will be another major factor he will have to account for as he puts together his first-year gameplans for the Rams,” said an unnamed source within team coverage.

The Arizona Cardinals are a professional football team in the NFC West division that hosts home games in Glendale and serves the greater Phoenix area. The franchise is recognized as the oldest continuously operating professional football team in America and captured an NFC championship in 2008, according to the official website.
