Gilbert, Ariz. – The healthcare industry is the leading job provider in Gilbert, employing more than 15,000 people.
The industry grew more than 49% over the last five years – almost double the growth seen overall in Arizona during that time – and is projected to grow by another 16% in the next five years.
Gilbert is home to the University of Arizona’s School of Nursing and major healthcare players like Dignity Health, Banner Health, and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The current expansion project underway at Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, which will double the size of the campus and add a brand-new women’s and children’s unit, means that critical care will soon be even closer to home for Gilbert families.
The healthcare industry is a significant contributor to Gilbert’s economy. In 2021, it generated more than $1M in Gross Regional Product.
