SWAT operation in Phoenix leads to injuries for trooper and suspect

On February 5, 2026, a SWAT operation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) resulted in a trooper-involved shooting in Phoenix. The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. near 2435 W. Indian School Road as SWAT troopers were serving a high-risk search warrant.

According to preliminary information from AZDPS, at least one trooper was injured during the shooting and has been transported to a hospital for treatment. The suspect involved was also injured, taken into custody, and transported to a hospital.

Authorities stated there will be no further updates tonight regarding the incident. Due to recent events in Flagstaff, public information officers will not be responding to the scene.

The case is being handled under incident ID# I26007530.
