The Arizona Department of Transportation announced on April 1 that work to improve a 14-mile stretch of US 160 in the Tuba City area is scheduled to start during the week of April 6-10.
The project will affect drivers traveling both in and east of Tuba City, with anticipated delays as resurfacing, guardrail upgrades, and drainage system improvements take place between mileposts 321 and 335. Lane closures and traffic shifts are planned within Tuba City from Mondays through Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and Friday mornings until noon. On two-lane sections east of Tuba City, flag crews and a pilot vehicle will guide traffic one direction at a time from Mondays through Thursdays between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m., with work also occurring on Friday mornings until noon.
