Description

Each Sunday we gather as an independent spiritual healing center with a very unique format for people like many of us that are "spiritually diverse".  We attract people who have shared that they are part of other congregations, as well -- LDS, Catholic, Unity and Jewish.  We are spiritually inclusive!

As an independent organization, the Center of Universal Light allows us the freedom to approach our Gatherings from a variety of directions, through spiritual practices, traditions, ceremonies, music and religions from any and all of the world’s religions.  Just like Sunday, we might combine several practices in one Gathering simply because the message is in line with our theme.  In this way, we follow our vision which takes us “beyond religion” to a spiritual wholeness.

We also present many practical ideas for improving our lives and the world around us without a focus on doctrine to box us in.  We are committed to the Truth in all positive spiritual practices and traditions which makes us all the more free to explore our collective beautiful hearts.

Arvel Bird and Kimberly Kelley founded CUL in April 2017.  After 14 years of touring as full-time performers and many years as spiritual seekers this opportunity presented itself.  I’d say it was out of the blue, but we had been visioning it for a year and 11 months.  We weren't married to the outcome, we just visioned what we wanted to experience — a new type of community and lifestyle.

Co-Founder and Spiritual Director, Arvel Bird (www.arvelbird.com) is an award-winning recording artist using his Native American and Scottish heritages to create original music on his violin and Native American flutes. In his performances over the last many years, his stories of Indigenous spirituality, Animal Totems and culture eventually took on a spiritual tone which, combined with his music, connected with so many fans all over the world, that we wanted to create something more long-lasting.

We hope you will join us in our open-hearted, open-minded community.
