CISCO SYSTEM, INC: Cisco Named a Leader in 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Meeting Solutions Thirteen Times in a Row

Cisco Systems, Inc. issued the following announcement on Oct. 15

For well over a decade, we’ve earned a place in the Leaders Quadrant – I believe – due to our steadfast commitment to giving customers the right technology and support to stay securely connected. I’m especially proud of our positioning in the Magic Quadrant this year where I believe we’re solidly placed with a strong balance of completeness of vision and ability to execute. This is an even greater achievement in a year where everyone was challenged to deliver a reliable and secure product at extreme scale – but Cisco did it – all while also innovating and delivering new capabilities to our users.

Recognition for Cisco Webex Portfolio

This year, we were recognized for our comprehensive Webex portfolio, which includes Webex Meetings, Webex Training, Webex Events, Webex Teams, and Webex Rooms along with a flexible and secure video infrastructure. We also scored well across all 5 use cases (Internal Collaboration, Learning and Training, External Training, Webinars, and Work from Home) in the Gartner 2020 Critical Capabilities for Meeting Solutions report.

The Key to Continued Success

We believe our Webex Meetings capabilities, endpoint portfolio, and hybrid architectures are the reasons why we were recognized. In addition, our hybrid architectures contribute to the conferencing quality and security that our 300 million+ users around the world have enjoyed. Moving forward, we believe our single platform approach which is designed to cover all your collaboration needs – calling, meeting, and messaging from one app, with one experience, on one management platform – will be key in our continued success.

Market Leader in Innovation Within Collaboration

We are a market leading provider/player in innovation and the work we’ve put in to advancing our application to help companies make the transition back into the office and embrace the new hybrid work environment is second to none. It’s the kind of collaboration innovation that enterprises and small businesses need now more than ever. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with being a leading provider in hosting virtual goat-yoga sessions or online happy hours with friends (we’ve been known to do our share of those too). But today  – as we move into the next iteration of the future of work – businesses need and require much, much more.

Our cognitive collaboration provides relationship intelligence and gives user information like biographies, work history, titles, and reporting structure. Our People Insights for participant relationship intelligence is a favorite among enterprise customers. The Webex Assistant for conversational voice control of meeting functions, closed captioning and automatic action items/notes makes note taking a thing of the past. Not to mention application of advance AI for facial recognition and noise suppression has the industry buzzing.

What’s more, we recently integrated the BabbleLabs noise-removal technology into our application and devices. The Clear Edge technology which is now part of Webex distinguishes human voices and mutes non-voice background noises like dogs barking, loud typing, leaf blowers, and other everyday distractions.

Security is Top of Mind

From a security standpoint, Webex also scored high. In fact, it’s also one of the reasons why 95% of the Fortune 500 rely on Webex for meetings and collaboration. Why? Because we give our users the peace of mind that all their collaboration is secure – with end-to-end encryption by default for files, whiteboards, and messages – and options for end-to-end encrypted meetings. Security has always top of mind for us so whether you are a team of scientists collaborating on a new vaccine, doctors treating patients, teachers and professors continuing to educate our next generation, or frontline worker supporting infrastructure – the common thread for secure collaboration is Webex. We also take pride in being fully transparent about security – providing detailed whitepapers on how our technology is built.

Commitment and Relationship with Service Providers

We believe we were also recognized for our extensive ecosystem for channel sales, delivery, and support of meeting solutions software and hardware across global regions. At Cisco, we’ve always been committed to doing business through our partners. Our relationships with service providers bolster our ability to give our customers access to the breadth and depth of our portfolio wherever and however they do business.

Ability to Scale with the Demands of Today

Did I mention that we own the network? We also own and operate 27 data centers globally that have been purpose-built and optimized for Webex. We run our own cloud and global backbone but also have the ability to use public cloud to handle peak demand. Combined, this gives us the ability to scale multi-fold for our customers – even in a pandemic or crisis. While other solutions claim to have as many or even more locations worldwide, none of them have a media-optimized network to deliver the kind of video, voice, and content quality today’s businesses demand.

What’s Next?

This year has been the highest demand on record for collaboration technology and Webex has consistently delivered the innovation, technology, scale, and security that has empowered remote work and smart hybrid work experiences around the world. We’re committed to helping customers address ready new challenges and changing work habits, whatever their journey.

I’m thrilled about the recognition by Gartner, as well as accolades and awards earlier this year from Red Dot, UC Today, G2, and TrustRadius, to name a few. And I’m so excited about everything else yet to come.
