Canyon Coaster Adventure Park, located along Route 66 in Williams, Arizona, is working quickly toward a spring opening, though it was hoping to open its doors last December.

Although owners of the park are waiting for items like transformers and gas meters, construction work continues to move forward, with hopes of the park operating by early March, according to Williams News.

The Canyon Coaster gets up to about 35 feet in height. Safety nets and walkways are placed in areas where the track is above five feet.

“We still need to put in lockers, and we need to touch up paint and polish concrete,” owner Scott Towsley said to Williams News. “But come [early] March, the bottom floor will be done.”

According to the report by Williams News, the upstairs is about 70% done but will be completed after the official opening. The first floor of the lodge is ready for employees to move into their offices. This floor also includes lockers, restrooms, and the ticket office. The parking lot below the lodge is also being constructed.

It is expected that the coasters and track will be tested in the next several weeks. Towsley said to the Williams News that while the entire coaster is already in, it will take about a week to test. He said that engineers and inspectors come out and load carts with sandbags for weight limits. There is also a tubing hill retaining wall that is close to being completed, and as the opening date nears the company will make snow, albeit late in the season.

Towsley and the Canyon Coaster Park ownership also run amusement parks in Big Bear, California, including the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain, the Big Bear Snow Play, and the Mine Shafter Coaster.
