Gov. Doug Ducey recently appointed five new members to the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools.
According to a press release, the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools ensures that charter holders comply with board regulations, reviews financial growth of schools and reviews applications for new charter schools and renewing schools.
“The members of the State Board for Charter Schools work hard to make sure Arizona students have access to quality education choices,” Ducey said. “I’m grateful for the time and effort they put in to serve Arizonans, and I’m proud to appoint new members that will continue that great work.”
The press release states that Stephanie Bahr, Jessica Montierth, Carlos Ruiz, Eli Chmouni, Christina Foster has been appointed to the board.
Mary Ellen Lee is leaving the board and is moving to a public member position following five years of service.
Last month, Ducey also appointed two community leaders to the Arizona Board of Regents and seven education leaders to the Arizona State Board of Education, according to the press release.
