Gov. Doug Ducey (R-Ariz.) recently traveled to Israel to talk about water conservation, border security, and trade.
"A blessing to be back in Israel," he said on Twitter on May 29. "I look forward to a successful trip visiting important biblical heritage sites and meeting with leaders and businesses with a focus on water conservation, border security, and trade issues."
Ducey referred to Jerusalem as the "eternal capital" of Israel.
"Proud to be in Israel on Jerusalem Day marking the 55th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War in 1967,” he said on Twitter.
The governor also visited historic sites.
"Had an amazing time seeing the latest archaeological discoveries at the @cityofdavid with my friend @ZeevOrenstein," he said on Twitter. "It is especially meaningful to visit on Jerusalem Day where King David established Jerusalem as the capital over 3,000 years ago."
Ducey also toured a desalination plant in Israel, something he named as a reason for his trip.
"Innovations like these are part of the solution to secure our water future," he said on Twitter. "In January's State of the State, we said desalination made Israel the world's superpower – and it's clear to see here."
The Arizona Chamber of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce office in Tel Aviv.
"Proud to join @TlvChamber in the signing of a historic memorandum of understanding," the Arizona Chamber said on Twitter. "This agreement reinforces our mutual commitment to continue to grow and strengthen the AZ/Israel economic and trade relationship. Looking forward to a long and productive partnership!"
