Failures and potential dangers of the COVID-19 vaccine were brought to light during a recent hearing in Arizona, State Sen. Janae Shamp said in a June 5 tweet.

"The evidence is proving that 'safe and effective' was blatant misinformation. There was no data proving it was safe or effective and now the data is proving the exact opposite. This isn't about politics, this is about the truth!" Shamp wrote in her tweet.

Yavapai News reports that in late May, a group of Arizona federal and state politicians held a two-day hearing of a Novel Coronavirus Southwestern Intergovernmental Committee to “examine federal, state and local efforts to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic, any fallout from such measures, and to identify any possible legal remedies against individuals or entities where appropriate.” Shamp served as chair of the committee, which included U.S. Reps. Eli Crane, Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs, and state Rep. Steve Montenegro (R-29).

One witness was cardiologist Peter A. McCullough, MD, MPH, the former vice chief of internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center and a former professor at Texas A&M University, who "has more than 1,000 publications and 660 citations in the National Library of Medicine," Yavapai News said.

Shamp tweeted a video clip from the hearings, showing a back-and-forth between her and McCullough. She asked the cardiologist to confirm that they “do not have a vaccine currently on the market for COVID-19 that is licensed and FDA approved."

“That’s correct,” McCullough said.

“We no longer have an emergency pandemic. It has been declared over,” she said.

McCullough agreed.

“We still have mandates that are across this country in different sectors for this vaccine. Is that correct?”

“That’s correct,” McCullough said.

McCullough has spoken out about COVID-19 vaccines, saying there are dangerous potential complications and side effects.

On his Courageous Discourse blog, he said many of the poor outcomes of the shots are because “Under Emergency Use Authorization, the vaccine companies and their subcontractors do not have any inspections of the final filled and finished vials.” This has led to a “report from Schmeling and coworkers using Pfizer BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine found that 71% of serious adverse events came from 4.2% of doses,” he wrote.

In another blog post, he showed a study saying “the pooled vaccine efficacy for laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness at 1, 3, 6, and 9 months was < 60% and < 20% for the later time points.”

Attorney Aaron Siri, managing partner of Siri & Glimstad, who has experience litigating against vaccines, testified at the hearing as well. Wisconsin U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson later shared a clip of Siri's testimony in a tweet in which Johnson said, “Attorney Aaron Siri is a true hero to anyone affected by vaccine injuries or involved in the medical freedom movement. Everyone should view his 2-hour testimony on the failure of our federal health agencies.”
