FOIA Request Sent to Mohave County Regarding Detailed Voter Information on September 25, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Mohave County, Arizona, on September 25, 2024. The request was made by the Grand Canyon Times, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

In the interest of transparency and public accountability, we at the Grand Canyon Times requested detailed information regarding ballots mailed for AEVL voters, early voting, overseas, military and any others that were sent out to voters for the current election cycle.

The specific data sought includes registrant ID, VRAZ voter ID, registration date, date added to voter list, effective date of change, voter's age or date of birth, first name, middle name, last name and suffix. Additionally requested were details about registration status and reason for such status. We also asked for information about county and precinct where the voter is registered as well as their address including city and state.

Further information sought includes contact details such as phone number and email address along with party affiliation and AEVL status. We also requested ballot-specific data such as ballot ID, election date for ballots sent out and type of election. Other specifics included in our request are type of request (absentee, mail-in, early voting or overseas), request date, return date and ballot status (accepted or rejected).
