Senator Justine Wadsack has initiated an investigation into the Pima County Recorder's Office over potential violations that may have affected thousands of voters in Southern Arizona. Allegations have emerged that a week before the October 25 deadline, the office canceled numerous pending vote-by-mail ballot requests and directed individuals to call for early ballots, leading to significant wait times.

Senator Wadsack has sent a letter to Pima County Recorder Gabriella Cázares-Kelly seeking all relevant documents and explanations regarding these actions. "I was truly shocked to learn our County Recorder's Office had done this," stated Senator Wadsack. She emphasized the gravity of the situation by adding, "These actions are absolutely unacceptable, undermine the integrity of our elections, and raise serious questions regarding voter suppression."

Wadsack expressed concern for her constituents and community, highlighting her commitment to ensuring their votes are safeguarded. She urged voters to participate in person: "My message to voters is to get out today and vote in person to ensure your vote is not suppressed."

The investigation aims at accountability for any laws that may have been violated.
