National Giving Month, celebrated in December, is a time to promote kindness and generosity, especially during the holiday season. It encourages individuals to support those in need through donations, volunteering, or simply lending a helping hand.

On December 3, volunteers from ADHS participated in an event at St. Mary’s Food Bank where they packed emergency food boxes. Volunteers managed to prepare 1,170 boxes at this event. These efforts aim to assist Arizona families during the holiday season. Such contributions are made possible by the dedication of volunteers.

During National Giving Month, people have various ways to contribute, such as donating resources to charities, providing food and clothing to local shelters, or offering their time to help those less fortunate.

Research indicates that acts of kindness can offer significant health benefits like reducing stress, improving mood, and boosting overall well-being. Helping others can also foster a sense of purpose and connection which is important for mental and emotional health.

National Giving Month highlights that giving not only assists others but also enhances personal happiness and vitality.

For those interested in giving back to the community, St. Mary’s volunteer calendar offers opportunities throughout the year for helping those most in need. This holiday season presents a chance for everyone to experience the benefits of giving.
