The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has finalized the design for a future interchange project involving State Route 347 and Riggs Road, located north of Maricopa. The design features a bridge that will elevate SR 347 over Riggs Road, replacing the current ground-level intersection.

The new diamond interchange will incorporate a bridge along with on- and off-ramps to facilitate connections to and from Riggs Road. This development aims to enhance safety, reduce congestion, and improve travel times in the area by allowing SR 347 traffic to move uninterrupted over Riggs Road.

Currently in its final design phase, the project is anticipated to be ready for construction advertisement by early 2026. ADOT has collaborated with the Gila River Indian Community and the Maricopa Association of Governments, working alongside the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs, in planning this project.

In addition to the main interchange design, left and right turn lanes will be constructed along Riggs Road to improve access to SR 347. For further details about this project and other plans concerning SR 347, interested parties are encouraged to visit azdot.gov/SR347.
