The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has announced the closure of westbound US 60 between Loop 101 (Price Freeway) and I-10 from 10 p.m. on Friday, March 21, to 4 a.m. on Monday, March 24. This closure is necessary for a traffic shift in the area. During this period, ramps from Loop 101 to westbound US 60 will also be closed.

In addition to these closures, several on-ramps along westbound US 60 at Country Club Drive, Alma School Road, Dobson Road, McClintock Drive, Rural Road, and Mill Avenue will be inaccessible from 8 p.m. on Friday until the early hours of Monday.

ADOT provides detour routes for drivers affected by these closures. For those heading eastbound on I-10, it is advised to use southbound Loop 101 to westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway). Westbound I-10 travelers should take northbound Loop 101 to westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway).

For access to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport during this time, drivers are directed to use northbound Loop 101 transitioning onto westbound Loop 202 and then enter via Sky Harbor Boulevard.

Motorists are encouraged by ADOT to visit i10broadwaycurve.com/alerts for information about additional weekend restrictions and closures. "The Arizona Department of The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to use designated detours when there are closures on state highways," they stated. They also note that schedules may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

This project is part of the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project outlined in the Maricopa Association of Governments’ Regional Transportation Plan. It is funded by a half-cent sales tax approved by Maricopa County voters through Proposition 400 in 2004. The project's goals include reducing travel times during peak hours on I-10, improving airport access, supporting ridesharing and transit options, and preparing for future regional growth.
