Nucleus RadioPharma has unveiled plans for a new manufacturing facility located in Mesa, Arizona. This development represents a significant expansion for the company and is expected to be operational by mid-2026. Upon completion, the facility will cover 53,000 square feet and is projected to create 50 new skilled positions.

The expansion addresses the current shortage of high-quality spaces for the development and manufacturing of radiopharmaceutical treatments. These facilities are critical for running late-stage clinical trials and for products anticipated to gain regulatory approval soon. Additionally, Nucleus RadioPharma plans to establish a second facility in Philadelphia, resulting in a combined capacity of over 100,000 square feet between the two sites. This growth is intended to support the rising demand for theranostics nationwide.

“To reach their full potential as treatments for millions of patients with limited options, theranostic radiopharmaceuticals must be available close to those who need them,” stated Charles S. Conroy, CEO of Nucleus RadioPharma. He highlighted that this expansion is crucial for improving patient access to life-saving treatments and for expediting clinical trials.

Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, commented on the significance of the new facility in boosting Arizona's bioscience sector. “With this new facility, Nucleus RadioPharma strengthens Arizona’s bioscience leadership while developing breakthrough treatments for patients. We’re grateful to Nucleus RadioPharma for their commitment to Arizona.”

Mesa Mayor John Giles welcomed the development, noting its impact on the local economy and innovation sector. “Their investment brings dozens of well-paying jobs to our city, boosting our local economy and enhancing our reputation as a hub for innovation. This expansion opens new doors for our local workforce and underscores Mesa's role in supporting cutting-edge technology development.”

Councilmember Scott Somers of Mesa expressed personal resonance with the announcement, citing the impact of cancer on his own family. He emphasized the significance of the facility in not just economic terms, but also in providing hope. “This facility will create advanced manufacturing jobs and ensure the steady supply of life-saving medications to help more people fight and overcome this disease.”

Nucleus RadioPharma, supported by various prominent institutions, is positioned to drive forward its mission of delivering cutting-edge radiopharmaceutical research and services.
