The U.S. Capitol mob attack has made both Democrats and Republicans express their disappointment and concern over the protesters’ decisions and actions: ignoring lawmakers' and law enforcement's presence and authority.

Arizona’s Republican Gov. Doug Ducey, for one, signified his disdain for the incident through his Twitter statement and called for it to cease.

“In America, we practice peaceful transitions of power,” Ducey wrote. “We respect the law and law enforcement. The scene at the United States Capitol right now is wrong and has no place in our form of government. All should denounce, and it should end now.”

The lawless protest happened in an attempt to overturn the Trump vs Biden presidential election results, as protesters supported President Trump’s claim that the election was stolen.

Ducey has previously expressed his confidence in the election system. He reiterated that there is an established election process that is being implemented and that can be trusted, especially in his state.

“I’ve been pretty outspoken about Arizona’s election system, and bragged about it quite a bit, including in the Oval Office,” Ducey tweeted last month. “In Arizona, we have some of the strongest election laws in the country, laws that prioritize accountability and clearly lay out procedures for conducting, canvassing, and even contesting the results of an election.”
