Global Leadership: Power of Perception on November 17, 2021

Maricopa Community College recently issued the following announcement.

Date and Time: Wednesday, November 17, 2021  |  3 - 5 p.m.

Perception is reality and language's ability to shape people’s cultural perceptions makes it incredibly potent and potentially harmful in our interconnected world. Join us for an interactive and discussion-based experience as we dive into this critical subject —  the power of perception.

Learn more about perception’s powerful role in cultural understanding:

  • Gain insights into cultural perceptions and resulting communicative behaviors.
  • Learn to identify and dissect discriminatory language.
  • Comprehend the power of human language.
  • Acquire skills to enhance mutual understanding.
Led by Maricopa faculty members Cristian Lopez Villegas, Rowdy Duncan, and Michelle Dew, the event will be held over Zoom and is open to all Maricopa Community Colleges students, faculty, and staff.

  • All attendees will be eligible for a Certificate of Participation. 
  • No admittance after 3:15 p.m.
