In response to recent claims made by the No Labels Party, the Arizona Secretary of State's office issued the following statement, attributable to spokesperson Matt Grodsky:

"Secretary Fontes maintains a neutral stance when it comes to organizations applying for party recognition status in Arizona. The Secretary is not working alongside the No Labels Party. While the Secretary is a member of the Democratic Party, his role as Secretary of State requires him to treat all political parties who engage with the office equally. The Secretary is standing with his office in the execution of its official duties. If anyone interprets that as a partisan lean or endorsement, they are mistaken."

In March, after the party submitted more than the requested number of valid signatures, the Secretary of State approved No Labels for the ballot, as required by state law.
