The founder of the League of American Workers (LAW) said new polling by his organization shows the majority of Arizona voters feel the American Dream is “out of reach.”
“Specifically, my organization, the League of American Workers, commissioned a poll of Arizona voters conducted by NorthStar Opinion Research, finding that only 18% of Arizona voters believe that the American Dream is ‘still attainable’,” LAW founder Steve Cortes wrote in his latest Substack newsletter. “A staggering 78% of Arizonans now believe that the American Dream is ‘out of reach.’”
“That level of despondency, in any region of America, should give great pause and compel introspection about what afflicts our society -- and what remedies can work as solutions,” wrote Cortes. “But this kind of pervasive hopelessness in Arizona stings particularly bitterly.”
77% of Arizona voters said American is on the “wrong track” and 60% disapprove of President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy, said the poll, which also found that only 13% of indepdent Arizona voters "strong approve" of Biden's performance on the economy, with 48% "strongly disapproving."
Cortes was a spokesman and advisor to President Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns. He previously traded global currencies and interest rates for 25 years for large international hedge funds. He has been an on-air broadcaster for CNBC, Fox News, and CNN.
He founded LAW in 2022 with the mission of promoting "policies to protect the priorities of laborers."
