Terry Schilling, president of American Principles Project, said the pride collection that Disney has produced for children's sections in department stores nationwide, featuring characters like Mickey Mouse and Marvel Superheroes, "should seriously disturb every parent in this country" and consumers should not support the company, which donates to the Trevor Project.

"The vast majority of Americans oppose allowing children to undergo dangerous sex-change procedures," Schilling said. "They also oppose indoctrinating kids with the false idea that a boy or girl can become the opposite sex. Yet, most Americans are unwittingly supporting these activities when they give their money to companies like Disney and Kohl's. This should seriously disturb every parent in this country.

"The reality is that corporate America should not be giving a dime to help advance the radical, destructive agenda of The Trevor Project," he said. "And once the transgender industry has been fully exposed for the damage it has caused, these companies will have to face the judgment of history along with every ideologue who furthered this movement."

Disney's 2024 Pride Collection went live on DisneyStore.com and at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort earlier this month to coincide with Pride Month. According to the DisneyConnect, "the Disney Pride Collection was created by members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community," and includes pride collections for Marvel, Star Wars, and the animated Pixar films. DisneyConnect also notes that Disney supports the Trevor Project.

Pride merchandise being sold on DisneyStore.com includes pride themed plush characters, a pride-themed Star Wars action figure, as well as a rainbow Mickey Mouse onesie outfit for babies 0-3m and older. Additionally, the Kohl's Department store chain features several Disney brand pride items in their kids section featuring Mickey Mouse, the Muppets, and the Little Mermaid.

The Trevor Project provides online resources and a social network community called TrevorSpace tailored to children as young as 13 that encourages members to "explore" their identity. The group further states their belief that "there is no 'right' age to understand your gender identity" and published a guide on how to support and encourage "transgender and non-binary young people" including how to properly use pronouns, including she, he, they, ze/zie, xe, and ve, and avoid "hurtful or stigmatizing" microaggressions.

On X, Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) expressed his support for Pride Month stating "Every day, our state and our nation benefit from the hard-fought progress made by generations of LGBTQ+ leaders and activists. This month, we celebrate how far we’ve come and reaffirm our commitment to justice and equality."
