Petersen announces new leadership for Senate Standing Committees

Senate President Warren Petersen has announced the Senators who will lead the Senate Standing Committees for the 57th Legislature. The leadership roles have been assigned as follows:

- Senator John Kavanagh will serve as Chair, with Senator David C. Farnsworth as Vice Chair.

- Senator David C. Farnsworth is appointed as Chair, and Senator-Elect Carine Werner takes on the role of Vice Chair.

- Senator J.D. Mesnard will be Chair, with Senator-Elect Vince Leach serving as Vice Chair.

- Senator-Elect Carine Werner assumes the position of Chair, and Senator T.J. Shope is named Vice Chair.

- The Committee led by Senator David Gowan will have Janae Shamp as Vice Chair.

- For another committee, T.J. Shope is designated as Chair while Tim Dunn is Vice Chair.

- Mark Finchem takes a chairmanship with Hildy Angius as his Vice Chair.

- Wendy Rogers chairs a committee with John Kavanagh assisting her as Vice Chair.

- Jake Hoffman holds a chair position with Wendy Rogers acting as his second-in-command.

In addition to these assignments:

- Kevin Payne leads one committee alongside Hildy Angius in the vice role.

- Shawnna Bolick serves as a chairperson with Frank Carroll supporting her.

Transportation-related bills are set to be reviewed by either the Committee on Appropriations or the Committee on Public Safety. Commerce-related legislation will pass through the Committee on Regulatory Affairs or other appropriate committees. Additional details about non-standing and select committees are expected soon.
