Governor Katie Hobbs has signed the Permit Freedom Act into law, a measure introduced by Representative Travis Grantham of District 14. The new legislation aims to provide greater procedural protections for small business owners in Arizona.
Chad Heinrich, the State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), commented on the significance of this development. "Not only do permitting and licensing requirements often result in time lost – but money lost too," he stated. He emphasized that bureaucratic delays can negatively impact economic productivity, which is why many small business owners advocated for this act.
The Permit Freedom Act is expected to shield local entrepreneurs from expensive delays and restrictions associated with various permits. This change is anticipated to create more opportunities for Arizonans who are dedicated to their work.
Heinrich expressed gratitude towards both Rep. Grantham and Governor Hobbs for their roles in advancing and enacting this legislation. "We thank Rep. Grantham for championing the bill in the Legislature and Governor Hobbs for signing the measure into law," he said.
