The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) has announced the launch of new social media accounts for its Highway Patrol Division. These accounts are now available on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook. The initiative aims to provide real-time traffic updates, safety information, and insights into the division's mission.

The Highway Patrol Division is responsible for enforcing laws against impaired driving, ensuring restraint usage, addressing collision-causing violations, managing commercial vehicles, conducting criminal interdictions, and handling traffic incidents. By expanding its digital presence, the division seeks to improve communication with the public and increase awareness about highway safety initiatives.

Lieutenant Colonel Daven Byrd of the Highway Patrol Division stated: "Our state troopers are committed to our mission of protecting life and property and work hard to serve the people of Arizona. These new social media channels will allow us to inform and connect with the public in a more timely and meaningful way. From critical traffic alerts to highlighting our traffic and criminal enforcement, we are excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at our operations and service to our communities."

The public can expect updates on road closures, major collisions, targeted enforcement efforts, and trooper spotlights from these platforms. The accounts will also promote statewide safety campaigns and share important public service announcements.

Arizonans are encouraged to follow and engage with the Highway Patrol Division through these new social media channels.
