The Arizona Republican Party is questioning the number of people who voted in the 2020 General Election.

Arizona GOP Chairwoman Dr. Kelli Ward tweeted that the numbers didn’t make sense.

“From 2016 to 2019, the UofA reports a statewide population growth of 352,472 (2020 not available yet) - about 1.58% growth per year for the last 2 years (which would make 2020 about 466K),” Ward tweeted. “Ppl from everywhere not just CA. Non-voters also included in that number (kids, aliens)...”

Ward said it looked as if these people all voted for Joe Biden, but then voted for Republicans in every other seat.

“...Do you expect us to believe that almost EVERY one of them voted for Biden, but they all voted for Republicans for everything else? Congress, corporation commission, state senate, state house, county attorney, treasurer, assessor, school superintendent, & recorder...#Laughable”

The tweets were in response to a tweet that said there were more than 500,000 people who had moved from California to Arizona since 2010 and that Arizona had had 2.2 million people move to the state since that year.

Ward recently filed a petition in light of the statewide canvassing that is set for Nov. 30.

There have been several statewide issues with the recent election, like in Maricopa County where the voting machines used, supplied by Dominion Voting Systems, which has ties to Democrats, is specifically named in the county’s Board of Elections Election Day plan. Dominion has also been criticized in the past for malfunctions with its machines.

In that county, the GOP sought to postpone the result certification, but that was denied by a judge.

“Arizona voters deserve to have complete trust in their election procedures. They should also have supreme confidence that only legal ballots were counted in the 2020 election,” Ward said, PHX Reporter reported. “Failure to address their concerns actively harms our state and our nation.”

Joe Biden won the state over Donald Trump by 10,457 votes.

“Due to countless voting irregularities, as well as alleged failures in the crucial processes that have been instituted to ensure the integrity of our elections, there is now a real lack of trust in the administration of this election,” Ward said in a statement. “Arizonans cannot have confidence that our state’s election canvass will be error-free considering the process by which counties verified signatures on mail-in ballots was not transparent nor adequately evaluated by outside observers. For reasons like this, we will be seeking to contest the reported result of the 2020 election.”

Gov. Doug Ducey declared Biden the winner of the state on Tuesday and the GOP immediately filed the petition for the court to allow discovery to happen prior to the election canvass set for Nov. 30.
