U.S. Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.), who has always questioned the impeachment of former President Donald J. Trump, reacted to his recent acquittal.

“After a rushed impeachment in the U.S. House of Representatives that included no deliberation or debate, the U.S. Senate has once again acquitted former President Trump,” Lesko wrote on Twitter. “It's time for our country to move on and get Congress back to the business of improving the lives of Americans.”

On Saturday, Trump was acquitted of inciting an insurrection in the Jan. 6 violent mob attack at the U.S. Capitol with a Senate vote of 57-43, concluding the five-day impeachment trial.

Despite the seven Republicans who joined the Democrats to convict Trump, the tally was 10 votes shy of the 67 required to convict the former president.

Trump’s second impeachment trial was conducted after he left his presidency.

Lesko is a longtime Trump supporter who had also voted against convicting Trump during his first impeachment.

He was acquitted in his first impeachment trial on Feb. 5, 2020, and this year on Feb. 13.

After his acquittal, Trump is still eligible to run for future public office.
